Reading Your Search Results
What your report contains, how to interpret risk rankings, and what the opinion letter means for your filing decision.
Report Structure
Your report is organized by search layer: federal, state, and common law. Within each section, conflicts are listed by risk level — high, moderate, or low.
Risk Levels
High risk: Closely similar mark used with the same or closely related goods. Most likely to trigger a Section 2(d) refusal or legal challenge.
Moderate risk: Some similarity but meaningful differences, or partial goods overlap. Requires closer analysis.
Low risk: Minor shared element unlikely to create confusion. Included for completeness.
The Opinion Letter
Available at $699 and $999 tiers. Evaluates each high and moderate risk conflict using the DuPont factors. Provides a clear go, caution, or no-go recommendation. A professional legal document informing your business decision.
Next Steps
Go recommendation: proceed to file with confidence. Caution: review the risks and options explained in the letter. No-go: you have saved yourself the cost of a doomed application.
